Summary: Morning conversations
NOTES: The title comes from a Website called Kiss This Guy #18
Mulder was in his car and headed for the vet's office before he realized that Skinner had said 'our' bed. So Skinner saw them in a relationship; that was an interesting fact. He wondered if Krycek knew how lucky he was.
Alex had fussed over Walter all morning and Walter had allowed it. He wouldn't admit it but he enjoyed having Alex get all domestic with him. He was beginning to think he was going to have to track Mulder down, when the phone rang. Alex answered it then brought it over to Walter in his nest of pillows.
"Hello, Mulder, what have you learned?"
"Sir, the suspect says he doesn't know anything. He claims he doesn't remember what happened last night, or how he ended up in the cage. Under the circumstances, I had to release him. I'd like to come over and discuss this with you and Krycek, if I may?"
"Are you bringing Scully?"
Walter could hear the smile, "No, Sir. I sent her home; this is between us."
"Come on over then and you can stay for dinner. See you soon."
He handed the phone back to Alex. "So are we going to be feeding him often?"
"Would that be a big problem?"
"No, I'm fairly confident of my place here."
"Are you now?" Walter grabbed Alex's wrist, pulling him down onto the sofa with him.
"Walter! Your leg."
"Feels fine, Alex. It's probably healed enough to take out the sutures."
"Let me up you brute and we'll take a look."
"Oh, I'm a brute? Seems to me I'm the one on the bottom most often."
Alex grinned and then kissed Walter roughly. "My poor abused man."
"Never said I was abused, just dominated." Walter smiled then pulled Alex into another kiss.
When the kiss ended, Alex got to his feet and held out his hand to Walter. He led Walter to the bathroom and carefully removed the bandage he'd put on that morning. The wound now looked several days old.
"I think we'd better remove them, Walter."
Walter bent closer to look and felt Alex was right. He nodded, and watched as Alex used the small scissors from the medicine chest to clip each suture before using the tweezers to pull them from his leg. He'd just pulled the last one free when the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it, you get dressed."
"Bit like closing the barn door, don't you think?"
"Yeah, well, it's my barn and I want it closed."
"Don't worry, I won't let him stable his stallion."
Alex groaned theatrically as the bell rang again. He left the bathroom with Walter's laugh ringing behind him. He got to the door just as Mulder was about to press the bell again.
"Come in, Mulder. We were removing Walter's stitches. He'll be out in a minute."
"He's healed that much?"
"Yes, we heal very quickly now. If the wound hadn't torn so much, he wouldn't have even needed Scully's help."
"There's so much I want to know about this."
"We talked it over today, and we'll tell you what we know. I warn you though, most of it is just what we've learned though happenstance. There isn't exactly a users manual given out when you get attacked."
Walter came into the room, still tugging down his tee shirt. "Hello, Mulder. Why don't we go into the kitchen and I can rummage around the freezer while we talk?"
He turned without waiting for an answer, and Alex followed, with Mulder behind them. Walter poured a cup of coffee and held it out to Mulder. Alex took out the sugar and cream, then poured his own coffee as Walter did indeed start to check out the freezer contents.
"Go ahead and tell me what you know, Mulder."
"Yes, Sir. The man's name is Obadiah Lewis. Have either of you ever met him?"
"No. Have you, Alex?"
"I'm sure I'd remember a name like that."
"He moved here shortly before the first attack. Before that, he lived in a small town in Maryland."
"What?" Mulder looked at Alex.
"That's where I was attacked."
"Did he seem familiar last night, Alex?"
"Walter, I was too busy trying to help you keep him away from that woman and Mulder. The coloring seemed the same, but I couldn't swear to it. But it has to be him. How many fucking werewolves are there in the country?"
"I want to ask you again, you know who you are when you change?"
"Yes, Mulder. Did we act like we didn't know last night?"
"No, Sir. Maybe there is something different about you two. Or else he is a damn fine actor."
Alex looked at Mulder piercingly. "Are you thinking that my making Walter the way I did, and our having a relationship, made us different in some way?"
"None of the legends indicate that the werewolf is aware of his human side when he changes. And I know the two of you don't turn into murderous beasts."
"What are you planning on doing, Mulder?"
"He won't change again until next month, right? You only change on the night of the full moon?"
"The attacks have only happened then as well. So, I'm planning on being outside his place when the next full moon comes up, with a stronger tranquilizer."
"Alex and I will be near-by."
"I was hoping you'd say that. This next time, we'll put him under surveillance and capture the change on film. After that I'm not sure. The courts won't believe it even then. They'll think its special effects."
"We'll cross that bridge then. How about we have a beer and watch the game?"
Mulder yanked down his tie and grinned, "Sounds like a pleasant way to spend the afternoon, Sir."
"Mulder, I normally let people who've seen me naked and transform call me Walter."
"Walter, I'd enjoy watching the game with you and Alex."
